If you were the type of kid who liked to go to amusement arcades in malls then you have probably played with first person shooter horror games like the classic House of the Dead. Arcade games already have had its fair share in the middle of the lime light and its golden age has ended but it will never truly go away. With games like Granny that are fantastically created in a lot of ways, arcade games especially the horror ones will always have a place in the heart of gamers even if it is in a different platform.
Granny is produced by Dennis Vukanovic, more commonly known as DVloper, a Swedish game developer who is also known for his other horror game Slendrina. DVloper’s mobile game creations are built through the Unity development platform. Granny is an offshoot of the popular game series Slendrina. When Granny was launched on November 24, 2017 for mobile devices, it became popular due to the numerous Youtube like FGTeev and Random Encounters that featured the game on their channels. A year later, the game was made available on Steam for $4.99. Even until today, Granny remains popular in the horror genre.
Granny’s game fundamentals are essentially uncomplicated. Players have to accomplish a very important factor, to escape the house. At the beginning of the game, the players will be awoken to a creepy house that they do not know. They have to leave the house, but to do so, they will need to get through numerous obstacles. As expected, the game’s ultimate boss that players are trembling to confront is Granny, the scary homicidal old woman. The way towards freedom would be either through the locked front door or by driving a disassembled car in the garage. However, it does not stop with that. In addition to the things that the players have to collect in order to finish the mission, they will also most likely run into the Granny’s super scary pets. Aside from the aforementioned challenges, the last trial is being able to complete the game simply by making as minimal sounds as is possible since Granny is triggered by sounds.
Aside from
play granny , you can also find five game modes that players can select from. Practice mode is specially designed for beginners. To decide on based on the degree of complexity that one prefers, players may either select Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme. Players can challenge themselves to accomplish the game in all these modes.
Granny’s graphics can probably not be likened on par with today’s contemporary games. As a matter of fact, Granny is comparable to that of an 80s blocky first person shooter game that is often found in amusement arcades. Although it falls short in this aspect, it compensates through game play mechanics and staying in keeping with what type of game it is - an exceptional horror game that will keep any players on their feet.
